Time to introduce my current obsession to this blog: Orchestre Poly Rhythmo. I was listening to Voodoo Funk podcasts when one band consistently started to jump out at me, so I began to check them out. Analog Africa does a good job introducing them in context, as well as selling a great compilation, from which this track is drawn. The other great record you can get your hands on is a soundways compilation.
But all you really need to know is that the “T.P.” in their name stands for “Tout puissant”, or “all powerful”.
