Madvillainy is one of my favorite all-time albums. Brendan just dropped my favorite rap of the album, so here’s my tribute to Madlib’s best beat on the album. It’s so thick, and he makes so many jarring transitions somehow fit together. Plus he drops an awesome verse.
He’s not quite as crazy as Doom (who is?) but madlib does stand for Mind Altering Demented Lessons In Beats, and here’s a brief list of who he’s worked with besides Doom: Tha Alkaholiks, Mos Def, De La Soul, Ghostface Killah, Talib Kweli, and J Dilla. Just saying.
